About the Instructor 

Katy is a Senior Fellow of the Flourishing Network hosted by The Human Flourishing Program at Harvard, where she also serves as co-chair of the ‘Leadership for Flourishing’ group.

Katy began her career in the British Army, where she served in Iraq, Europe, and the USA. She is now a Deputy Head with responsibility for performance, development, leadership and character. Katy holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford focused on flourishing and leadership. She is a former Research and current Associate Fellow of the Oxford Character Project (at the DPIR, University of Oxford) and Teaching Fellow of the Department of Education. Katy lectures, supervises and examines at Oxford in education, character and leadership.

Katy is co-founder of Global Social Leaders,  a movement of young people in 105 countries leading social action projects. Katy is co-editor of  ‘Leadership for Flourishing’ (Oxford University Press); lead author of ‘Growing Minds: The Science of Raising Thriving Teens’; and co-author of ‘Leader: know, love, and inspire your people’, ( runner up in the Business Book Awards). She is on the Board of Wellesley Prep School, and the charities ReconnectEd, and The Sandhurst Trust. Katy loves time and adventures outdoors with friends and family as well as the ballet. She is a GB age group triathlete, former GB synchronised swimmer and national level swimmer.
